Psychological and Spiritual Maturity in Modern Life

Reception of Wenceslao Vial’s book in Brazil

The book Psychological and Spiritual Maturity (Madurez Psicológica y Espiritual), by Wenceslao Vial, has been translated into Portuguese. It was published in Brazil by Editorial Cultor de Livros, as one of the books that make up the new Crisol Collection.

Crucible (Crisol in Portuguese), which gives its name to the collection, is the vessel used to melt substances, mainly metals, and therefore withstands high temperatures. This collection aims to refine and forge the character of its readers, as in a crucible, through a careful curation of titles by modern and contemporary authors.

In this way, Wenceslao Vial’s book fit perfectly among the other titles, as it presents a very current and present discussion in everyone’s life: How to know if one needs a doctor, a psychologist or a priest? Is it possible to cure depression with spiritual direction or to alleviate a troubled conscience, only with therapy? The author seeks to answer these and many other questions about human interiority.

Unity of the human being in psychological and spiritual maturity

Confusion between the spiritual and psychological dimensions is common, since we are a unity of body, soul and spirit. Unfortunately, however, many times only one of them is prioritized, while the other is underestimated or even forgotten. This, therefore, deeply compromises the relationship of the person with himself and the resolution of possible problems.

For this book, an abundant and current bibliography on psychology, psychiatry and spiritual life was used. It is therefore a complete resource for all those who wish to delve deeper into this subject, especially parents, educators, priests and health professionals. In addition to serving as a scientific manual, it is also a guide to understanding one’s own mental and spiritual health, guiding the search for personal balance.

The relevance of the theme is so great that Maturidade psicológica e espiritual quickly became one of the best-selling books in the collection. We are sure that the quality of the content will not disappoint readers.
