The worldwide interest in this temperament test is a reflection of a good desire: to know oneself better. This is the starting point to really improve one’s character, which is always possible!

Let us remember that personality, or the way of being that defines us before ourselves and others, has two elements: inherited temperament and acquired character. Temperament comes from Latin and means a mixture of humors, giving rise to sanguine, melancholic, choleric or phlegmatic.

Character is taken from a Greek concept that defined the imprint left on coins, or also the instrument to make that incision. It can be said that a person of character has a definite mark on his or her way of being, a clear identity of which he or she is proud. A person of character is also capable of leaving a luminous mark on those around him or her, influencing others in a positive way.

With the help of these people of good character we can all improve our own. The change of dates in the calendar serves as a stimulus for us to get to know our family, friends, colleagues at school or work, etc., and to discover who can reinforce our way of being.

Four tips to improve character:

  •  Self-transcendence: going out of oneself toward God and others.
  •  Good life or virtuous life: self-realization in the good.
  •  Coherence with ideals and values: finding the meaning of life.
  •  Dialogue towards truth: seeking the good, the true and the beautiful.
